I think you also need to copy winamp.bm8 which should be in the same location
as winamp.bm.

There should be a winamp.bm file in %ProgramFiles%\Winamp. Copy that to
the Winamp installation directory

Look in the application data folder for the winamp subfolder, and
they should be in a file called winamp.bm. Save yourself some trouble
and just do a search for that file, and use Note pad, or Word Pad to
edit, and make sure you save your work as a text file, and not in
another format.

Winamp bookmarks can be easily sorted by those people who use
Window-Eyes version 7.01 by using the "Sort Winamp Bookmarks" button in
the Winamp Bookmarks Manager which is included in version 1.3 of the

The Winamp bookmark list is a text file that references different files, or
mostly audio streams.
I'm guessing that what you want to do is take a very long mp3 file that has
different chapters in it, maybe it's an audio book, and you want to

I have winamp 5.06. when I play a strream from shoutcast and save it in my
bookmarks it saves the IP address. so if there is more than one it is hard
to know what you are going to. Is there some way to get winamp to save the
bookmark as the name of the stream or change the bookmark names?
