Worrying about MSFT pulling off support for XP, at this time, is a bit
premature as this won't occur for years. Keep in mind that XP systems are
still being sold, at a minimu through June 30 of this year, by major
manufacturers such as Dell (just received a souped-up XP laptop from them

Mike has provided an excellent framework for a comparison between Total
Recorder and Replay A/V. I'll intersperse comments after his features,
which are unquestioned plusses for Replay A/v.
(1) ability to record a stream prior to its reaching the sound card.
This is the biggie; Total Recorder do

Mike, thanks for such a detailed rundown of RAV which I do have as a
trial at the moment.
At first it wouldn't pick up on my Delta Audio mixer, but it did sort
itself out eventually, so I shalll very likely purchase AV Recorder now.
Be interesting to see comments of T R users if any come along.

Good question

I am not a user of Total Recorder so I cannot comment on whether TR has
these features or not.
Among the features I find invaluable in Replay AV are the following:
(1) ability to record a stream prior to its reaching the sound card.
(2) ability to record multiple streams
yback program an output of which you need to record to use the

Hi Milton,
You can just install version seven over the top of version six and
everything will work okay as long as you already have a valid
registration key for version six. I upgraded from version 6.1 to 7.0
without any problems.
