Try installing the codecs packs e.g. the k-lite codecs pack from
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_codec_pack.htm
which will enable mp4 audio and video it for the whole system on all programs.
It'll also enable videos and audios for some kind of .avi container formats

I Googled Winamp and MP4, and it looks like you can play MP4 files with
