After the cd is ripped it should be in a pcm file. There you can edit it
with total recorder.
As long as the file is in pcm you could use windows media, or winamp to

I have a sony laptop, and what I had to do was to use a pre-amp mike
combination in fromt of it.
Maby you can find a power mike.
Check sound professionels for the mike.
