I'd be interested to know how any of these netbooks work with Sound Forge or
Sonar. I wouldn't expect much but would be nice if one could do live
recording and some audio editing.
Maybe the Samsung with it's turbo mode could even handle some soft
synthesizer plugins.

Hi Steve,
I have been using a NC10 from Samsung for about a week. Our Samsung has
given us a 30 day evaluation unit to use. Actually, it has a very nice

The asus eee pc line has some good netbooks too. In particular, the 900 ha,

Let me make a few comments here. I have used the MSI, HP MiniNote, the
Samsung NC10, and the Dell Mini 9. First let me say that I was totally
disappointed by the Dell Mini 9. The keyboard is too small, keys are
crammed together, and a number of important keys are missing or have been
moved.
Thus far it appears that almost all the netbooks are using the same audio
card and software. HTH

My laptop has built in Bluetooth, and I bought a kensington Bluetooth device

Hi David,
Such a bluetooth device will work for the PC. However, if your PC is
not bluetooth-enabled (like mine) you will also have to purchase the
bluetooth transmitter. I got my headset, which is just a single

It depends on the Netbook. For instance, I know that the Samsung uses a
Realtech HD Audio card, which is not bad, especially considering it has,
believe it or not, a stereo mic preamp.

I have an asus eee pc and like it more than the nc10. From what I've seen of
the nc10, that's just boasting. My 900 ha has maybe a 90 percent full
keyboard, probably less.
The soundcard on this thing rocks - for most things, anyway. It converts
files in gold wave with no lag at all. Its better

Any of you using Skype 4.0 with JAWS 10 and do you need scripts for it. I
currently am using Skyp3 3.8 with no scripts and it works very well. The new
version has better sound quality and better vido quality. Thanks.

Yes, I have an Asus EEE PC 904ha. Although this model has a smaller
screen than some models, it has the body of the ten inch models, so the
keyboard is great, almost as good as the HP mini. These little netbooks
are surprisingly snappy and WindowEyes works extremely well on them.

Yes, but from those who have tried this unit, the concensus is just those
who are probably not using any screen reading or magnification technology so
to me its not valid points.
The NC10 does not have by any stretch of the imagination a 96% keyboard or
it would be the best seller.

It starts very fast.
About 20 seconds from pressing the start button to the windows startup
sound.
It also has a quit good audio card.

Hi All! I'm wondering if anyone has yet tried using the new netbook computers.
I hear that they're quite handy to take from room to room, but again, the
keys seem to be a bit smaller, and take a bit of getting used to. Has anyone
ever tried using one of these animals?

That's what's happening with me. I could set the screen reader to play
through my second sound card, but I would have to turn Window-Eyes up
because my speakers are connected to both sound cards.
