Recently I downloaded mutt 1.0 and tried the configure command. This was the result:
loading cache ./config.cache
checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... no
checking for working aclocal..

This is a wonderful idea, but the above script could be dangerous...

This is clearly
Mutt apparently does not honor the [ALERT] IMAP server response code.
According to the IMAP RFC's, it must.
Here's a log of the IMAP dialogue between my mutt client and the IMAP
server. As you will see, the server is indeed issuing an ALERT on the
second-to-last line of the output.

I guess this is a new feature in the listserver (sparklist) software. When I reply
to the list, this piece of information remains in the note. Each time I reply to this

Search around, esp at http://www.pgpi.org/ ... there's plenty out there.

Try Simson Garfinkel, PGP Pretty Good Privacy, O'Reilly &

The copy I have is dated 1995; there is a more recent reprint, May of
1999.

Good morning,
I am new to mutt - and very unfamiliar with PGP. Would someone please point me to a
good beginner resource for using PGP with Mutt?
What I have read so far seems to assume that you are familiar with PGP.
Thanks,

I'm interested in that feature also. Is it already contained in the snapshot
mutt-stable-19991220.tar.gz which I just downloaded? The problem
is, er . . . this shapshot does not contain a ./configure script
so I don't know how to install it (I tried just copying the
