Hi,
I sent in this request years ago, and I was wondering if we could
make this adjustment in the modules list. I have removed the backwards
compatibilty wrapper from the latest release.

is tagging is not limited to MP3 files. You might
also want to talk with Matt DiMeo about ID3v2 Tags.
What is it you would "expect" that either one of the modules doesn't
offer?
Having even more modules to do this is kinda silly don't you

There are a lot of modules under the Audio:: namespace and DOUGM's Xmms::
would also fit in there nicely,
