s done, but it does mean that I might
be able to get an updated port/package set up for 3.7 & below. That said, if
anyone here can give me pointers on doing this, they'd be much
appreciated...meanwhile, I'll wander over to ports@ to start figuring it out
myself.

- I figured I'd get connected in a
wide-open setup first and then lock things down. Does anyone have any idea what
the problem could be, or how to fix it?

lacing binaries and upgrading
/etc along the way (the GCC upgrade being perhaps the most important piece), so
I just took the plunge and did it all at once, and to my pleasant surprise, it
worked. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone -- YMMV -- but I think it speaks to
the quality of OpenBSD that it can perform well under such totally unanticipated
conditions.

O processor. That said, I apologize if this question has already
been answered, but what would be my best bet for building a RAID-5 with these
disks under OpenBSD?

take my system down for long stretches of time (i.e. several hours) at a

of some sort of a problem with the ath driver, I'd be interested in
working with any relevant developer(s) to fix the problem, including taking a
look at the source myself if someone who doesn't have the time to fix it
themself pointed me in the general direction of where the problem might be.
