Yes, you can delete the original folders, itunes will import these files into
its own media folder. however I would recommend deleting the folders, checking
that itunes plays the files ok before you empty the trash - just to be on the
safe side, but i do this all the time so you should be good t
I would just do yourself a faviour and just use safari especially if you're new
to voiceover. Chrome is getting better but safari is just more accessible and
is still pritty quick and a lot faster than ie on windows, well ie8 anyhow.
just my take.

Well, i was running fusion with 2gb of ram and windows 64-bit on my mbp and it
was a bit sluggish. If performance is your main priority, you should run boot
camp wich will mean that Windows gets the whole 4gb and will run more smoothly.
If you want the ease of flipping between the 2 operating sy
Hi Ben,
welcome to the list and to the world of all things Mac. I've had my mac for
around 18 months now and have learned a ton of stuff from the list so you're in
the right place.

Hi Chris,
just my short take on using a Mac and audio production.
Well, I bought my mac to get an accessible version of Pro tools and found that
I just wasn't using my Windows machine at home at all after that. Whilst I
still use Jaws every day at work, I now prefer the Mac environment and nev

OH yes, You need at least the Mini, the Micro is cheaper but doesn't
allow you to record, so don't get that.

Does Anyone know why I'm not getting the usual "connect to windows or mac"
message when I connect an external drive to fusion under lion? does this work
for anyone else?
whenever I connect an external drive via usb, it automatically connects to my
mac. I'm not sure if that's because fusion has
Go to the mac app store, not the app store in iTunes. then do a search for osx
lion, that's what I did.
You'll need to have snow leopard 10.6.8 downloaded before you can get get it,
so make sure you do a software update before you install it.

Hi Ahmed,
you can press control+option with home to go to the first item in the table and
end to go to the last option.
If you're using a MacBook, you'll need to use fn+left arrow for home and
fn+right arrow for end.

Hi Kari,
Well, like you, this has been bugging me but here's what I'm doing at the
moment.
In 3-column layout, you've got your mailbox table on the left, Your messages
table in the middle and a table containing all the messages in a conversation
on the right.

Hi Anouk,,
Well, the easiest way for me to explain is like this. Garage Band is very
accessible, probably more fun and free, however it is less professional than
Pro Tools, so if you're looking for Album quality, you need Pro Tools.
Pro Tools is also very accessible. I've played with Garage Ban
ay.

Hi Chris,
Your Macbook will be fine to get started with Pro tools. However here are some
things you'll want to know.
1. Pro Tools is not currently supported with Lion, so if you've got Lion,
you'll need to go back to snow leopard for the time being.
2. I'd recommend getting an MBox 2 which is
Hi Kevin,
just seen this thread, Blabber's tight, good job. I have PT 8 but haven't done
much with it because I've been using Logic I'll deffinately take another look
now having heard that. Can you edit MIDI accessibly in PT or at least quantize
it? from the jingles sounds like you can.

Hi Edward ,
The books you buy through Itunes are to my knowledge are audio books
from audible.
They get put in your audio books folder and cannot be read by Alex but
are usually broken into chapters.

I too bought an IMac recently so that I could get up to speed with

Hi does anyone know if the accessibility includes selecting a given
track and then changing settings on that track such as arming mute
solo etc? I'm assuming that these basics are covered. I'm asking
because in Sonar/Logic you first focus the track you want to adjust

While I agree with many of the Sentiments expressed in this thread
and, for the record, am a proud iMac owner, if this is true this has
got to be a sad sad day hasn't it?
Which of us didn't start off on a pc with windows using a pro
screenreader such as Jaws or Windoweyes or Hal? Which of us have
ility and they get paid, that's what I call a win
win.
