Hello,
I have an MBP running Lion which I bought at the end of April.
It was set up by a member of staff at the Apple store where I bought it. He
suggested that I should have a password when starting the OS and I quite
agree with this. However, at a subsequent one-to-one training session it

think it is more secure this way. So yes, passwords are always a good idea;
they just seem to work a bit better for VoiceOver if you have the OS prompt
for a username and password instead of having you choose from a list of
accounts.

Daniel,
That is a good idea. I was certainly thinking about upgrading although I
know some people prefer to wait. However, my MBP is working now well
enough (i hope) for me to wait until Mountain Lion is released. I would

other times you need to toggle VO with command F5.

Hello,
I want to partition an external drive but I want one partition to be
considerably smaller than the other. From reading the Disk Utilities help
and some other sources it seems you are supposed to adjust a slider to set
the sizes. Is this accessible by Voiceover and does it tell you the s

I don't know if this will help or not. I have only been using a Mac since

Hello,
Happy New Year to you all.
I have been using some of my One-to-One training sessions at the local Apple
store to have a look at Mavericks before upgrading.
The first problem I encountered is with the Calendar. In Month View, I cannot
navigate to either the end of the month or the beginn
vo-up or down to move by week, remembering your command-left and command-right
to move by month. Using tab, you can move through your appointments during the
selected month too.

Hello,
I have just started using Numbers on my Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion
and, so far, have two questions.
1. How can I select a whole row or column? A trainer at the Apple Store says
you have to click on the row number or column letter. I cannot find a
keyboard shortcut to do this n
and holding down the Shift key, use either the right arrow key
for a row, or the down arrow key for a column.
As for your Busy problem, are you by any chance running Windows as a virtual
machine? If so, you'll need more memory.
Cheers,

Hopefully this information was useful to you. Please let us know.

Hello,
I am running Numbers using Mountain Lion on a Macbook Pro.
As I move around the cells with the arrow keys Voiceover says the cell

instead. Is t

numbers kind of useless anyway, but that's just personal preference.
Hope this helps.
