Hi Donna, Basically, the answer is “yes”, as long as you have an M1 Mac. First, in VoiceOver Utility, under the VoiceOver Recognition category, make sure that Image Recognition is enabled. You can download extra languages as well if any of your images require translation or to be spoken in an

Rebecca, The function that we are discussing pertains only to electronic files. But you can install scanner drivers on the Mac. You should be able to just download them from the appropriate site, and open the zip file, then press enter on the executable file to install. It’s been forever sin

This feature works as well on Intel Mac. I’ve got MBP 2016 15” and it does work. The key difference between Intel and Apple Silicon in this regard is in the speed of recognition. I think it will be much faster on Apple silicon. That is because it is much faster and much responsive on iPhone 10s
