Hi, The Apple TV has to be the device sending the music to the receiver. If you AirPlay from your iPhone to the Apple TV, then it is the iPhone that is in control, and thus you are essentially using AirPlay to deal with the music, and AirPlay which then limits the bandwidth. The Apple TV 4K

Hi Ronald, You’re most welcome. Yes, modifying the decoder within the AirPlay or AirPlay 2 protocol would be a great solution. It would be interesting if Apple made the Apple Music app available to be installed on sound systems in the way that they made Apple TV installable on some smart TV’
