I use a LaCie 2 terabyte firewire/USB drive. And, I think it's a discontinued model - the latest LaCie's are 3 tb or greater. I use firewire because it is the only mode that allows for booting off the external - you can't boot from a USB drive. I have it split into four partitions, 2 for bootabl
