This is far from a dumb question. However, I have the answer for you.
The problem is with GMail. If you send your message through a different SMTP
server rather than the GMail one, you'll see your own messages, but when you
send through the GMail SMTP server, you don't.

When you go to the view Menu, make sure that the headers are none so when you
open a thread your message reads automaticly and you do shict command h and
you voice over lect arrow to get to your headers and interact if you want to
know who the message is from.

Google for a tool called sharp keys. I can attach it if you can't find that
assuming that's with in the terms of the license which I think it is. (it's
freeware)
This allows you to remap keys with a simple 2 and from field then you apply,
reboot the VM and you should be good.

I would like to see some added features in garageband as well as accessibility,
I would also like the ability to cut and paste and not just copy and paste
files. I would like selecting and copying text from the web to be a more
reliable task. It seems to just work when it wants to.

Most of the safari problems you listed are corrected by using webkit. Not the
navigation so much but the voice crashing and other slowness issues. It's not
perfect but it's much better than what's included stock.

You can already assign samples to keys in garageband, it's just not accessible.
The problem is you need someone to drag the audio file on to the key you want.

To be fair though with vo you don't really need a back up from what i've seen
so far genraly i find if it frezes all i have to do is turn it on and off and
it is fine again.
