Here are a couple of more ideas to try:
1. Go into VoiceOver Utility > Verbosity, and select the Text tab. Now make
sure When Text Attributes Change is set to Do Nothing.
2. Open the document in Pages, and export the file as a MS Word docx file, and
then open the file in Text Edit, and
the settings you are
using. I’ll use the same settings here to see if there is a way to replicate
the issue.

Hi
What is the best way to read book length documents on Mac?

With Pages and Text Edit, I am facing a strange problem. I prefer to read

When I open a book length document on Text Edit/Pages/Word on Mac, I first
interact with it to read the text. I use the quick arrow keys and my own
app, Press command plus grov.

Thanks,
Muhammad.
