: can't find an installed program
This is probably a stupid question, but where can I find a program I installed
on my mac? I got the message that the installation was complete, but don’t see
the program on the doc.

Installing a program does not place it on the dock, it's in your
applications folder. In the finder, press command shift a to open this
folder, the application should be there.

Programs install into the Applications folder, not the dock. You can
put it on the dock when you open the app by opening its context menu.
