Did you make sure they were in the book marks folder pup up button? that is,
did you check that option in the combo box or pop up button as aple calls it?

Install Thunderbird on your PC or the Windows side of your Mac, import
the mail into that, then import from there into Mail. There's a
detailed discussion of how to do this in David Pogue's book, Switching
to the Mac
