Hi Chris, It sounds like your computer lost the search field in the upgrade to Catalina as well. the only way to fix this is to use the Customize toolbar item under the View menu. the problem is that this dialog/window does not work with VO dragging in any way shape or form. I have reported

Hi, It seems to be a flaw in either the upgrade to Catalina Mail, or I'm not sure why it happened if you were doing a clean install. When I contacted Apple Accessibility about it, they said that all I needed to do was go under the View menu, down to Customize ToolBar, and drag the search item
