Command Option F will take you to the search field. Type your search string there and tab twice to the messages table. There you will find a list of all messages in all mailboxes that contain your string. If you want to search specific mailboxes, you can select them in the mailboxes table like always. I believe also that Spotlight will find text in saved mail messages as well as any other instance of a search string on your Mac.
