Me personally, I use list view, I don't like icon view.at all.I like
everything vertical.

normal. :-) However, I do usually use listview. Do you find that the iconview
is better?

As soon as I read your message, I remembered that I had used quicknav earlier
today, and apparently it didn't get turned off. I don't use quicknav very
often at this point, so I guess that might explain why it didn't

what view are you in on finder. it sounds like list view.
try hitting the control panel for finder and finding the icon view.

OK..you also need to make sure that in system prefs under keyboard and then
under the keyboard shortcuts tab you need to have full keyboard access to "all
controls" and not just "text boxes and lists only." HTH,
