You have a few options to search for duplicate tracks in iTunes. One
is to use the "Show Duplicates" option under the File menu of iTunes'

I'm trying to avoid weeding it out by hand, given how huge that folder
is. I suppose I could search for every song that has a (1) in it, but

I have this same problem. In iTunes, I forget where in the menus, the
iTunes menu or file menu there are options for show duplicates. it
will list all the repeat files and you can go in and manually dell
them. If there is an automatic way I'm sorry but I dont know that. HTH
