i would love to know the answer to this. I can only tell you I did it all by hand which was painstaking. I honestly believe apple could make it easier on us and when you highlight all duplicates, to be shown, it gives you the option to delete only the duplicates. if you hit show all duplicates, and then select all the songs in the songs table, it deletes all of them, including the ones you wanted to keep :)
