I went into Googles IMAP server settings and changed my preferences on deletions/expunging. This might help, though i remember when I initially made changes here, it was because I accidentally deleted something and had no way to restore it. I'll see if the recently deleted items ends up in Goog

Hi, That’s odd, as it should delete from the original mailbox as you expected. Apple’s info can be found at this link: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/mail/mlhlp1190/mac I used the “Today” smart mailbox that is there by default,
