Nektarios,
Make certain that trackpad commander is turned on. This can be accomplished in
VO utility or by pressing control-option while rotating two fingers on the
trackpad clockwise. rackpad commander can be disabled by pressing the vo keys
and rotating counter clockwise. If you're like me
Eric,
Hmmm, interesting. Unfortunately, I personally do not have enough experience
with Skype in particular to be of much more use on the subject. However, it is
something I am interested in getting up and running soon. I will have to think
about trying an older version in the meantime.

Well, I am not sure about this.
Double tapping with two fingers near the top doesn't work for me, I may be
doing it wrong though, because I am not that familiar with the trackpad yet.
The skype problem is much more annoying though.
Thanks.
Nektarios.

2 things,
you need to set default display to speech.

you have to enable some of the other events in the configuration panel. you
have to add a growl notification to message (initial contact) otherwise it will
not speak the event. once that is done and enabled, each chat will be spoken.

I never had this problem either with the firewall on or off. I simply

Hi Ray,
Where did you get growl? I recently discovered that the version that adium

annoyances for me. This might help you.

Well, growl don't work for me. Every single time a contact comes online, I
just hear the noise and then growl says, "has come online" but it doesn't ever
tell me who comes on or goes offline. Also, aint Growl supposed to tell you
when somebody downloads a file from your drop box?

I have also been experiencing the same problem accessing Skype on my macbook

I run Skype here (version 2.8) and the only issues I have with it are
accessibility ones (currently being mitigated by the use of growl). I Still

Thanks, Rose. Is App Trap something that already exists on the mac, or does it

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I have been looking for a way to cleanly
remove applications when the occasion arises. Do you find trashme to be very
speech friendly? I haven't played with it extensively as of yet, but at least
at first glance, there appeared to be some unlabeled checkb
App trap will nuke an app's associated preferences as well. It's actually a
preference pane. You run this file called AppTrap.prefPane, and it installs a
preference pane in System Preferences. Then you restart your computer to
activate the pref pane. To use App Trap, simply delete an app from yo

To present yet another way of skinning this cat, using trackpad commander time
and battery status are easily ascertainable by double tapping the top with two
fingers
and touching near the top on the right side of the trackpad. the clock is just

I was able to move the app to the applications folder and use the control+f8
functions.
I still have trouble connecting to skype though, no matter what I do.

first open the disk image for Skype, (and this applies to other aps also), you
