It should work to go to gmail.com log in and make sure you have html version.

Just to avoid confusion: the word sender is the person who’s sending the email.
So what goes in the “to” field is not the sender’s address, technically.

I forgot one more thing. When we are talking about filtering email list. The
senders adress is the email list address like macvisionaries@googlegroups.com
Not Anna, Joey or Smith`s email address.
Take care

This is correct! If memory serves me well, it is the "to" field you need to
enter the email address. Shown in the guide. For testing purpuse, use only the
"to" field(the email address of the sender). Like what a smart woman said, it
is not always the email address is shown in the from field, but
Hi try entering the mac visionaries address in the to field instead. Sometimes
this works better. Not sure why. It could just be gmail throwing a fit.

Hey Teresa,
Thanks for the help, I will add the name of the meal to the to field also, and

Hey Jim,
I tried that once, but stopped after it transferred 500 messages that were in
my trash back in to my filter folder. Yeah that was a pain

Something occurs to me. many mailing lists don’t have the address of the
mailing list in the from field. it’s usually in the to field. I usually choose
the “to or CC” to catch all the double-postings. So you might try the to field
as your criterion instead of the from field.

Hey Brian I'm not Ricardo but I usually use the test search to see if things
are going to filter properly. Then it says want to filter 20 messages or
something like that and I just tell it yes.
Not sure if this will help or not.

Hey Ricardo,
In Gmail when you set the filter is the only info that you enter the name of
the sender, checking the skip inbox, checking the folder to send the email to
and selecting the folder? That is all I have entered for my labels, just wanted
to make sure I wasn't leaving something out. T
I've noticed that my gmail has been really really slow lately and sometimes
when I move things to the trash and close the email on my mac only to come back
to it later, my trashed items are back where I didn't want them. Weird
behavior.

Hey Ricardo, Thanks so much for letting me know I am not the only one this

create them in mac mail. Yes, I have my Gmail set up to imap on the iPhone, I

Hi,
This happened to me yesterday as well. For some reason, some of my filters in
gmail just stopped working. So your not alone. lol. About the filters not
working on your phone though, do you have gmail set up as an IMAP account on it?
Thanks.

Hey Jim,
Well for some odd reason my mail filters just stopped working on my iMac, and
the mail filters I have set up in gmail never work or I should say rarely work
on my iPhone, not sure why but when I am at home the filters seem to work but
as soon as I am off WiFi and out and about none of
Hi Brian!
What exactly do you mean that you can not sec with your iPhone? I have gmail

the messages are filtered properly. I just used the "create a filter" link in
basic gmail to create my filter rules. Unfortunatel
Well, after all of my troubleshooting I have figure out that it is definitely a
gmail issue, as I deleted everything starting from scratch and setting the
rules/filters in gmail did nothing. I just reset the rules in mammal and sure

Hi
You may have to make a label first. Be sure to type in the correct email adress
when making a filter. Try with only the senders email address first and nothing
else in topic, message text field etc. Only the senders email adress. Then, you
are minimizing the potential errors because you have
Gina,
Everything was working fine yesterday morning, I did no updates, so not sure
where or how this problem started up. I used to use my rules in mac mail but
for some reason those rules don't work on the Mac and iPhone, so I needed to

Hey Teresa,
Thanks, well at least I finally found what you are talking about on the Gmail
website, and in case anyone else is looking to get to their rules to see what
they have setup here is the bizarre way to do it. On the Gmail page click on

Hello,
Not sure what you are asking. Did you set up your rules within Apple Mail or on
the Google GMail website. I don’t know about rules with Google. But you will

Hi, Brian,
I admit I’m well and truly stumped. It sounds like you’re doing everything
correctly, but Mail is messing up. We’ll have to see if someone else comes up
with a possibility. If I think of something, I’ll mention it. sorry I couldn’t
be of more help.

Ah, sorry, Brian. Try deleting your Google account from Apple Mail and adding
it again and see if the filters show up. I haven’t used basic HTML for a little

Before you change your settings in Gmail, you might try a couple of things.
First, Remove the rules you set up for your Gmail accounts on your computer.
This is assuming you’re using IMAP. You don’t need both sets of rules; just the
ones set up on the gmail website. Delete your Gmail account in
