If you want to do all the files in a folder, you will use cmd-a to
select all then cmd-c to copy. Open an email or TextEdit and do a cmd-v
to paste.
If you want to select certain files, interact with the folder,
select the first file and press VO-cmd-enter. Using VO and up or down
arrow
well, I really think that depends on who you ask. so tell me again, how do I
select the text to paste into text edit? if I just select all it'll select
those mp3 files unless it knows better than to paste those into a text edit
file.

Well, assuming you have open shell at current location service then you could
right click on the directory and find open terminal window at current location.
Then you could use the "ls" command or possibly ls -l if you need the details.
Then you can copy the output from terminal.

If you hit enter on the file name you will go into edit mode for that item.
You can then use the typical editing commands to select text.
Be careful not to change the text while selecting it or it will change the
filename.
