But Simon, until you have tried it for yourself... I have not been able to play my mp3 files from a text document. All I have managed to do was paste file names into my document. Duh! (smiles)

But ET & Tim,

If you command a within a folder then command c to copy the contents,
Surely pasting that in to a text edit document will take all the files and drop

And then you could play them from there also!

Yep ok, don't answer!

That is exactly what Tim is saying and that is exactly what I have
explained will work if you just go do it.

Tim, are you saying that you can select all and copy to clipboard
inside of a file folder and get the titles rather than the mp3 files
themselves? normally when you do that you get the files themselves
rather than just their names.

different platforms.

no. it sounded like more work than copying the individual titles
primarily because I would have to open another program. I suspect
this is just personal preference.

Well, assuming you have open shell at current location service
then you could right click on the directory and find open
terminal window at current location. Then you could use the "ls"
command or possibly ls -l if you need the details.

Then you can copy the output from terminal.

ISn't it wonderful how there are so many ways to do this?
