Please disregard my last message. I must have had a typo that I didn't notice,
because a search for the author's name brought up the book straight away. My
apologies for the wasted message.

Hi Anna and Alex,
That makes perfect sense. You know, I've selected text before, but it never
dawned on me that the VO keys would have no impact that selecting text. Thanks
for the clarification. Have a good day.

Hello Les,
VO-Shift-Home is Go to first item and VO-Home is Go to first visible item. If
your page is small and all visible on the screen, the effect will be the same
for them both.
As for using the Shift key, remember that it doesn't select anything when the
VO keys are also being used.

Auto forms mode can be turned off in all screen readers as far as I know.

hi
No, shift only selects when used with OSX commands in a webpage. VO hijacks the
rpocess in html content areas to let you select text, but again only with
standard commands. As the command for top of edit field is cmd-up,
vo-shift-home will select nothing. After all, vo-shift-left/right move by
Hi Alex,
If you use the shift key, wouldn't that select text with the commands you
referenced? I tried VO-Shift Home and VO-Home, and I couldn't tell a
difference in where I landed on the web page I tested.

Just to be clear, vo-shift-home (vo-shift-fn-left on mac keyboards with no
home/end) takes you to the top of whatever vo is interacting with. If you
interact with a text field in a form, it will take you to the top of the form.
If you have only interacted with the html content, it will take you

Hi,
Just want to address 2 issues that have a solution ooh might have missed.
To go to top of page I find vo shift home works well.
Second, after finishing editing a form in many it not most cases ooh don't need
to find the go or the submit button. Just pressing enter will do it.

Hi Clifton
I agree with you about Safari and that it is the most difficult thing to
master. I've had my mac for less time than you but I just don't get a sense of
the web page like I do in windows. Getting to the top of a page can be
difficult sometimes, and even scrolling with the track pad doe
