Yes, look at your voiceover settings, I am fairly confident that I changed or
reviewed something in my VoiceOver settings to play a tone for links. Of course
if VO sounds and possibly if mute are turned on, the VO sounds won’t play.

This might not help but check in the VoiceOver settings under Verbosity to see
if in bedded is set to Speak? That might have nothing to do with it but might
as well check.

With Emergency Bypass on, Any calls or text messages from contacts who you've
set it up to work with will bypass the mute setting. Hope that helps and hope

Thanks, And I also think I have to try and slow down. I was so used to just
opening a new email and swiping up with two fingers almost as one movement and
getting the result I want. The same thing happens when I get a new email and I
unlock the phone and find the mail app in the Doc and double
I would suggest tapping in the middle of the screen and then doing your two
finger swipe up. This should work.
