Hi Robert and others,
Robert’s suggestion to turn off Screen Curtin and then try hand off worked for
me!
So for now hand off problem solved.
Now that is some strange bug.
Thanks Robert and everyone for sticking with me through this problem solving
adventure.

Hi,
A while back, I discovered that this feature doesn’t work reliably for me if I
have screen curtain turned on on the phone.

Sometimes, when the universal clipboard doesn’t perform as it should, I go back
to the source and re-highlight and do the copy action again. Usually things
work as expected the second time.

Hi,
When it comes to the universal clipboard, there are some considerations. I
don't know the specific time restriction, but there is one and I believe that
it is less than 30 seconds, may even be 10 or 15. So, It is best to have the
iPhone open and ready after copying the text from the Mac.
Hi Brad and others,
I’m glad I’m not the only one experienced hand off not working. I was starting
to think I was alone with this.
I have restarted iPhone and Mac, turned off Hand off and turned on again on
both devices. I’ve tried selecting on the Mac and pasting on the iPhone in an

I experience that same issue sometimes on my Mac mini that is still running
High Sierra. I have learned to cycle VO off and then back on again. This
usually fixes most gremlins.

Hehehe, similar thought to mine, and I was still typing as you sent.
Things sound very strange out of my window now as NZ is in total lock down and
there is no traffic noise.

I know simple things that have worked for me when something should work but
doesn’t, is to turn it off and back on again. So disable handoff on both
devices and restart them and then enable handoff again. You probably don’t need
to restart the devices but it doesn’t do any harm.
This may not hel
Hi,
sometimes, a boring old restart does the trick. When I updated to 10.15.4 on
my MBP, the Extras Menus weren't working. Every time I did a VO-m-m, the first
one went to the main Menubar, and the second went to my Desktop. I turned VO
off and on, quit apps, all with no joy. I logged out t
I’ve been having issues with the Universal Clipboard as well. It had worked
like a charm in the past, but it has been really inconsistent over the last few
versions of iOS 13. I have all my settings as they should be, but I honestly
haven’t had the chance to really investigate and troubleshoo
Hi Tim,
I double checked hand off and both are turned on. Mac and iPhone. I
have a funny feeling I’m doing something silly like not pasting correctly or
not looking for the correct rotor setting.
I was copying from Pages on the Mac and trying to paste the content as a

Hi,
You need more than just Bluetooth enabled. You need Hand-off turned on for
both, Bluetooth on, and both on the same WiFi network of course. Hand-off is
in the General pane of System Prefs on the Mac. It's also in General of the
Settings app on iOS/iPadOS.

Ray,

I believe, if I am not mistaken, that you wish to move a file from one location
to another without having to copy then move then delete from original location?
IF so, do this.
1. Select file to be moved.
2. Press command+c to copy.
3. Navigate to new location where file is to be moved.
4.

Hi,
I used cut and paste to move files around in Windows for years with no
great trouble. I may have cut something by mistake once or twice, but
in that case Undo came to the rescue. On the whole, I like working
with the Mac very much, but I miss this feature from Windows.

I thought you could already copy and paste files. I'm not sure I would
want cut equated to delete since that's a rather dangerous thing to do
and I might hit cut when I meant copy. At least I do that with text all
the time and have to undo.
