Based on what I read. fsck allows one the opportunity to recover
data. I didn't dig much deeper but am surmising that fsck could not
repair the partition. TM transfer will soon be done...in about 9 hours.
:) I probably could have deleted some of it first. Oh well.

Hi,
FSCK is a File System check. Not sure why it rendered your partition read
only, but I don't see any reason why changing the Time Machine to a different
partition would cause you any problems. Of course, you need to ensure that the
partition is formatted MacOS Extended Journaled.

Update: I found that it is doable so am going to move the backup now
and sleep all day while waiting. :)

Turn Time Machine off from within System Preferences. With TM turned off, you
should be able to erase the partition. TM puts a lock on the volume, which is

I'm thinking if the entire flash drive then terminal using the diskutil command
line might do it
