If you know the person's twitter name well enough, you can always type it
manually in the tweet edit box you can summon up with the button in
Notification Center. Or, you could copy/taste it from the tweet you just read.
I'm mostly just being difficult here; I use my favorite twitter client to
Hi,
Sure, it would be a cutdown twitter client. What else would you call something
that displays mentions, DMs, and would allow you to reply to those? hhaha. I
get your point though. I can't think of much a reason for these capabilities
not to be included in notification center.

Not really a cut down twitter client, i just want to understand the logic in
the implementation of the feature, if you see what i mean.

So,
What your saying is, you want Apple to essentially make a cut down twitter
client of their own? I don't think its a bad idea, boxcar does it on the Mac
after all, but I wonder if Apple would truly consider doing it.

One thing i really can't understand, though i've got a good explanation of
Twitter in ML is why we can't reply directly to mentions and DMs directly from
notification center? I mean what's the point of posting a tweet from the

What I have to do is interact with the table, then the button is in there. An
odd place for it, but there it is. Maybe you didn't interact with the table?

Go to Notification Center's System preferences pane and see if you can find it
in the applications table there. Check its settings so that Sounds, Banners
and Badges are checked. Make sure the "Show in Notification Center," check box
is checked, and, in the Options dialog right next door, chec
Hmm, wonder why I didn't get that when I went onto Twitter? That would've been
lovely.

Ah, I believe I'll give this a whirl. Thanks.

I can't find Twitter in the Notification Center, and I'm signed in to Twitter,
and according to the apps section on Twitter, Apple integration has permission.
So I am confuzzled. :)

I had to take slightly different steps, but I got it. I now see a "click to
tweet" button in my notification center, which I assume is what everyone is
talking about. Oddly, though, I never got directed to twitter.com to authorize
the connection. Despite that, OSX now shows as an approved app on
Okay, I see how you did that, but I didn't do it that way; all I had to do was

wanted to allow Apple's apps to access my Twitter account. I said sure, what

To connect to twitter:
Go to system preferences, mail, contacts, calendars setting. then you'll find
an internet accounts table. Interact with that, and vo down arrow to twitter.

your twitter credentials, and should be
I don't see a way to do this. Come to think of it, I haven't yet connected my
mac to twitter, and have not seen a preference for it. I googled it, but was
unable to find an answer as to how to actually get my mac connected to my
twitter account.

Hi,
Well rather than firing up a twitter app and navigating to where you would
post, why not just hit the notification center and post from there? They are
not trying to do away with your favorite client. They are just making it easier
to post to twitter and shortly Facebook without having to o
Hi all,
I'm curious why you would use the default at all. I mean, why not just manage
your twitter through your favorite client to begin with? That is, what does ML
offer for twitter that makes it worth bothering with? I'm not trying to stir
anything up, I honestly don't know. I know ML has twit
Hi,
nope. The only way you can reply is to interact with the mention or message in
the notifications table and then perform a mouse click with VO shift spacebar.
Then, Safari will open up to twitters page. Not very efficient. I think we
should suggest Apple adds a feature that allows replie
Hi,
I'm generally very satisfied with Mountain Lion too. I wish i could make
replies to mentions and direct messages from Twitter directly in the
notification center, maybe there's a way, although i haven't found any. Anyone
else who knows about this?

Well Mark, I totally agree with you. This message has been dictated, using that

Hello.
I have been having a lot of fun with Mountain lion these last few days, and I
would like to comment on what you said.
I, too, by the way, I'm dictating this entire letter. Just because I can.

Okay. I am going to try to dictate this entire message, because I wanted to see
exactly what the result is if it is left uncorrected. I have some interesting
observations about mountain lion. Beginning with Safari six. And I think you'll
find this quite interesting. It used to be the case that e
