The key was to change the permissions on the Music folder BEFORE copying it
from the external. Strangely enough, when I changed these permissions, I did
*NOT* get an "apply to all enclosed items," check box until I got it over to my
internal hard drive. From there, I was able to back to that d

I did discuss how to change file permissions via the GUI rather than the
terminal. I too find this method much simpler, even with the bit of
linux/terminal knowledge that I have.

I have actually managed to copy it over and am backing it up now. I first
needed to change permission (through the command I info dialog) on the original
Music folder on the backup drive, then copied it over. Once I got it over, I
