The key was to change the permissions on the Music folder BEFORE copying it
from the external. Strangely enough, when I changed these permissions, I did
*NOT* get an "apply to all enclosed items," check box until I got it over to my
internal hard drive. From there, I was able to back to that dialog, apply to
all enclosed, and then copy the two enclosed folder, Itunes and Garage Band,
into the Music folder on the root. So, I ended up with a Music folder inside
the music folder onto he root, and from there was able to copy the stuff out of
it to the enclosing Music folder. There may be a simpler way, but it's done
now, all backed up and everything works. so I'm content. :)
