Hi, Allison. I have actually managed to copy it over and am backing it up now. I first needed to change permission (through the command I info dialog) on the original Music folder on the backup drive, then copied it over. Once I got it over, I have to change permissions on all the enclosed items, again through the same dialog. It's multi-step and a bit confusing, but it can be done, apparently. I never got the Terminal method of using chmod to work though.
