Hi,
If you are hearing emails being read as they come in it is possible
that the notifications are set up in a way that speaks them. I remember
turning that off in the past.

Hi Tim and others,
Sluggish moving of mail messages solved.
Well, In the process of trying to get hand off to work again I turned off and
restarted my computer. And though I’m still working on solving the hand off
issue the sluggish mail moving behavior is gone. Got to love that restart

Yes, that machine should handle things just fine. What process do you use when

Hi,
I have not noticed this at all. Moving messages behaves just the same as it
has in previous iterations and is not slow at all.

Hi Brad,
I’ll have to mess with this in Catalina. I know in passed versions of the
OS, there were inconsistencies in how Notification settings effected actual
apps. This might actually solve my own problems with Mail notifications.

Hi Donna,
While Classic view is not available in Catalina, there is a similar alternative
called Column layout, that can be enabled from within the View menu, in the

The preview pane that appears either below or to the right of the mailbox

Hi listers,
One thing I have noticed after updating to Catalina is that moving
messages to a mail box is slow with mail stating busy and then after a pause

You have to use the VO-arrows to be able to read the descriptions before each

Thank you John. I’ve made the change as you suggested. Not sure why I wasn’t

I believe in Mail Preferences in the Viewing Pane, you can set the preview

You can go into Mail Preferences in the general pane and choose to have
