you may not have burned the data correctly. how did you burn the DVD? burning a DMG file means opening the DMG file, launching disk utility, selecting the INSTALLESD dmg file and instructing it to burn to DVD. this creates a bootable DVD. when all's finished, quit disk utility, eject the DVD,
