yep. do you still have the installer? if so, bring up the contextual menu (VO Shift M) and go to show package contents. From there you need to find the InstallESD.DMG file (can't exactly remember where it's located), now open it so it mounts to the desktop, insert a blank DVD and when finder asks you what to do, run disk utility from the dialogue box.
from here it's a simple burn the install DMG contents to the DVD. after this has happened, reboot the mac with the DVD still in and hold down the C key. give it a min or two and then Command F5 for voiceover, the next step for the clean install (I advise before doing anything else including these previous steps is a data backup of essential files you want to keep to a pen or external drive, etc) when you've agreed to terms, etc, go to the tools menu and launch disk utility. go to the hard drive and erase it. YYou can either do a quick erase or any of the secure erase functions. (it's at this point I advise not having any other external drives connected such as pen drives or external hard drives, otherwise you might accidentally select the wrong drive.) erase the drive, when completed, quit disk utility and continue with the installation. you can with Voiceover, customise the installation, etc before the install starts, this includes apps, languages, etc. If memory serves me right, the install starts with downloading some necessary files not included in the installer so ensure you have a working internet connection for this. after this, the install goes on and will finish, as long as voiceover is running, you're fine. good luck and have fun. if you need further help, let us know. lew On 8 Mar 2012, at 00:05, joseph wrote: > hello list > > i upgraded to lion when it was introduced. now i need to make a clean > install. > > can anyone therefore, provide instructions? > > thank you in advance. > > best > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "MacVisionaries" group. > To post to this group, send email to macvisionaries@googlegroups.com. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > macvisionaries+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/macvisionaries?hl=en. > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
