Hi Jonathan,
Sure, pass it on to me. I'll see how it works in Catalina.

Tim,
I wrote a Apple Script two or three OS versions ago, that would consistently
move the splitter to 100% in Mail. I can provide it to you if you would like to
test it and see if it still works.
It does require the Accessibility permissions in System Settings.
Best wishes,

I know there's an AppleScript command, but it was broken in Mavericks and I'm
not sure if it is fixed now or not. Perhaps that's what you were thinking of?

I’m afraid I don’t recall a procedure for doing this from Terminal. I did a
quick look through my current defaults, and don’t see a setting for this.
Sorry. :(

Hi,
As mentioned, dragging with VO will not usually do what you are wanting it to
do. You actually want the Horizontal Splitter to be at 100%, not 0%. You will
know that the Preview Pane is gone by selecting a message, then stopping
Interaction with everything, then using VO-right to move thr
i already drag the splitter to 0 by interacting it.

Hi all, and sorry I’m late.
If you have a keyboard with a numpad, a very leet way to turn off the preview
pane in the classic layout is to turn on and use Mouse Keys, from System
Preferences > Accessibility. Route the VO cursor to the horizontal splitter,
then press and hold the numpad 5 key,
In classic view and without the preview pane, mail boxes are on the left and
messages on the right. In the new layout, mail boxes are on the left, messages
in the middle and the message preview on the right.

i already did it what you did tell but i don’t know if i did it. One strange
thing on mail on yosemite is that the messages is on the left, while on
mavericks is on the right. is this the preview pain of the mail?

I’m afraid I don’t understand what you mean.
You have to turn the trackpad commander off to be able to use the trackpad the
way a sighted person would use it. This is necessary for you to be able to drag
the horizontal splitter to the bottom of the window. Using VO to drag the
splitter down res
do i have to turn the mouse track pad on? and n i can just rout my keyboard

The idea is to drag the horizontal splitter to the bottom of the screen. This
is why you have to bring the mouse to the splitter before pressing down on the
trackpad.

Hi all.
somebody here in the list, mounths ago sent to me a Terminal command to
disable in a safety way, the mail preview panel, but I can't find it.
I think this will be better and quicker than playing with the vertical
splitter control.
Maybe it was Sabathine, to tell it to me.
Gabriel.

Hello Keith,
Here’s how to disable the preview pane.
Put Mail into classic view by opening Mail preferences (Cmd-Comma) and
selecting Viewing in the toolbar then checking the Use classic layout check box.
Close Mail preferences and navigate to the messages table.
Do not interact with the message
