Hi All,
I looked at itunes help, and discovered that I had made a huge
mistake. In actuality, both Autofill and copy and paste are working
fine, both in Windows and on the Mac.
The mistake I made was thinking that unchecking Sync music on the
Music tab of the iPod was the same thing as che
I wonder if nothing else, perhaps a applescript can be written?
Something like
1. Select songs you want to have on iPod.
2. Run the appleScript to add to iPod.
I would expect this would only be about 4 lines of AppleScript

HI Marie,
Interesting. I chose to erase and sync when I connected my iPod, which
I had synced with another computer first. I then stopped it from
syncing and made sure Sync Music was unchecked. This should make the
iPod as close as possible to starting out fresh. I selected a track,

I have to disagree with you on one point. The ability to add a song
with the contextual menu to a playlist with your ipod's name is still
available on the mac.

Hi Anna,
Here is two methods to manually add songs to your iPod. I have an iPOd
Nano 4G and using this method with iTunes on the Mac works like a charm:
When you set up your iPOd, iTunes in some cases creates a playlist
named (the name of your iPod)-selection. iTunes might already have

Hello Anna,
While I haven't used any iPod Shuffle since the first generation Shuffle,
before iTunes 8 added copy and paste capabilities it was possible to manually
move tracks onto the iPod with VoiceOver's drag and drop. For example, you
could select multiple tracks from a library (either co
Hi,
I've been experimenting with PCs today, and it turns out that Autofill
no longer exists as an option for the third generation Shuffle or the
4th generation Nano in Windows either. Furthermore, I can't copy and
paste anything to either of these iPods either on a Mac or a PC. When

If something is bad, why do people say that something, "sucks"? If
something is worse, does it eat?

Anna,
if you want to add songs to your ipod. just highlight the songs you'd
like to add and in the contextual menu go to add to playlist and find
your ipod's playlist, usually is your name ipod playlist and hit
enter. the songs you highlighted are now in your ipod playlist.

Hello,
You can copy and paste tracks in iTunes onto an iPod since iTunes
version 8 (the first version to be made accessible for Windows Screen
readers). If you copy and paste a file onto an iPod that's set to
autosync, such an iPod Nano 4G (or other models), it will immediately
turn that
Good point! I'd never thought of that before.

HI Erik,
You can indeed copy and paste single songs or a selection of tracks to
an iPod in Windows if you manage your iPod manually. YOu can even
select a track in Windows Explorer that isn't in your iTunes library,
copy it to the clipboard, and paste it into your iPod if you're

Hi, maybe I'm missing something, but I have always been under the
impression that you can't copy and paste songs to an IPod under any
opperating system.
I have downloaded some third party utilities for the mac that were
supposed to allow this but they all sucked. I ended up selling my

Hi,
As near as I can tell, Autofill is available on the Mac for the second
generation iPod Shuffle, but not for either the third generation iPod
Shuffle or the larger iPods. Is that right? If not, how do I access
these features? It seems odd that iTunes would have features in
Windows that
