Tim, I tried again. Plugged the bootbale USB drive in, restarted, got the the startup manager, no speech. Conmad F5 did nothing. The bootable drive was not listed anyway so I aborted. Verified that the Mavericks installer was still on that drive. I need to get that speech before I proce
