Tim,
I tried again. Plugged the bootbale USB drive in, restarted, got the
the startup manager, no speech. Conmad F5 did nothing. The bootable
drive was not listed anyway so I aborted. Verified that the Mavericks
installer was still on that drive.
I need to get that speech before I proceed. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi,
Yes, once VO is on at the Language Chooser window, it is on and accessible all
the way through the installation. There are a few occasions where you may need
to use the Window Chooser (VO-f2-f2), but all options are fully accessible with
VO.

I am not getting the information I need to do this right. When I did the
upgrade the first time, I did not erase the drive as I thought I would,
probably because I missed getting Voiceover at each step.
So what I need is, will Voiceover speak all the way, will I need to turn it
on at certain steps etc?

After 3 days or so of running Mavericks, I still have issues after
login. So I may reinstall and this time wipe the hard drive.
I created the bootable USB drive so that is fine. What I need now is
an outline of the process once the Mac boots from the USB drive. I had
trouble getting Voiceover to speak at each step so I would like to do
this right. Thanks.
