Thanks for the feedback, guys. i have a late 2009 Mac Mini running Mavericks. It doesn't lag if I invoke the command immediately the second and subsequent times. I don't use dictation at all on the Mac. Do speakable items have to do with dictation? I'll try disabling them and see what happens.

Hi, I don't believe it to be a bug. It's within a second for me. I will check tomorrow on some slower machines to see if they behave differently. I do recall a long time ago that if you had Speakable Items enabled, this sort of lag occurred. May not be your issue but thought I'd mention it.

I can't replicate this. Well very occasionally I can, but usually mine speaks the time in about two seconds. If there's a lot going on it's a little slower. I don't think it has ever been 30 seconds though. This is a Macbook Pro. we have an Air at work which is slightly slower. I should see if

As you may have already found, the drawer also holds the information for the user - location, bio, follower counts, and so on. You can also block the user from there, in the "user action menu" popup. I wish there was a quick way to jump to and interact with it, but at least we can access it. On
