The mac should work well for all of those things, and you won't need to pay
extra to keep the screen reader up to date. And, since you use voiceover on the
iphone, you'll have a head start with using a mac.

The main thing for me is that I now have Vmware tools for Linux, and it's
easier to share my Mac folders. I was seriously considering mounting the Mac
partition. I actually tried it and it didn't work, so using the tools may be a
bit safer for me. :)

As far as sharp keys goes, when you open sharp keys there are two list boxes.
If I remember correctly (although it was more than 5 months ago since I did
this) the first list box is where you have to pick the key you want to remap.
My suggestion is to get a Mac before your windows machine dies so you can learn
the Mac at your leisure, while you are still productive in windows. That's
what I did anyhow, and it worked out great.

No, as far as I know, you can not use an answer file. It's a limitation of
answer files from what I understand and they just won't play. I've tried it
myself and it didn't work, even with the set particians flag turned off.
