You can get the mac book to stay awake when you are using / if you are using
external monitors or / and keyboards.
We've got a number of them at work that do this.

Well, I did some experimenting, both with Command-Option-Eject, and
with just closing the lid. The culprit is the braille display. I
have a focus 44 hooked up to my Macbook, and if I don't unplug it, it
seems to check in with the Mac about every ten seconds. this keeps

Sometimes the hotels dont' actually have the service, it is a third-
party provider and they must have a deal where they provide the gear

I usually put mine to sleep the same way. But I tried the other way
after reading that it was an option in the user guide. Who knows,
maybe I didn't have it closed properly, but since then, I've gone back
to closing it the other way.

Yes, Ichat doesn't allow you to sign into MSN though just AIM. I have
Skype but most of my friends use you MSN and like ot send voice clips

I thought I read that some airlines are offering in-flight wifi now, of
course for a 'nominal' fee. It still annoys me that hotels and such bilk
people for wifi access from their rooms. Last CSUN I paid $13/day just

Wil, I've taken the plunge, but so far I'm having some issues with my
HP Scanner. I have been in contact with ABBYY and they have been at
least responsive, but their suggestion didn't work, but then again the
instructions didn't seem to be for the Mac or we're talking two
different versio
1. Hibernate is called "safe sleep" in the Macintosh and I believe it
is always enabled.
2. THere are ways to run the mac with the lid closed. I found a

I've recently started to use my USB headset with my MacBook, and it
works just fine. That's not the problem at all. The question I have is
related to starting up the laptop while a USB headset is plugged in.
