Short question: is it possible to use cross-references in footnotes
pointing to a footnote number?
Among German historians in articles it is common to use a full reference
for the first citation and a short reference with a cross-reference to
the footnote number of the first reference. For instan

What do you think about that? Maybe it's also inside of lyx too dangerous.

PS: In the meantime I got some answers to the same
question on another mailing list specialised to japanese computing and it seems
that it is a general problem indeed. But perhaps you can give me some hin
inword in Vmware for such
purposes? Yudit and emacs are possibilities too, but yudit has not enough
formatting capabilities (?) and emacs -- well I could give it a try, if I
had enough time. German Winword with japanese support has no problem with
this at all, but I would like to leave it behind me.

will try to get by with yudit or emacs for bilingual purposes.

That would be great! But perhaps it will be more difficult than you are
thinking now.

I use tables. If I define a fixed width in a cell, there
is no automatic line wrap, an lyx crashes frequently.

Hi,
I've installed lyx 1.1.6-fix2 with rpm on SuSE 7.1 and can't mark text with
the keyboard. It only works with the mouse. Default language is german.
Any idea?

I changed to
/usr/share/lyx/bind/de_menus.bind, which should be correct. Anyway the
marking problem comes with both bindings.
Are there more things I can check, before I have to start compiling or
fiddling with xmodmap?

compiling from sources. But I will try, if I find no better way.
Thanks anyway

he same problem. So it's clear that something in my system
is broken and not the fix-2 version. I think now I will check my backup files
to find out what has changed in the configuration of my system.
Thank you again

Thank you, that did it! Everything is working fine now.

If anyone is interested in using CJK-LyX for Japanese, Korean or Chinese
input see the following URL:

mlauts, compose key
doesn't work if the XMODIFIERS variable is set (necessary for kinput) and
overall it is quite instable (e.g. it crashes if you scroll through the users
guide).
I'd prefer to install rpms, but probably it won't be possible that way.

Second question: Is it possible to add ERT to this kmap definition so that I
get directly "a in ERT when I push the ä button?
I hope I was clear enough. If not I will try to explain again.

Word2Tex works very well. Of course you have to import the LaTeX file to LyX.
Look at:
http://www.word2tex.com/
There is also a free trial version with limited capabilities, but usable.
