I had written a latex file and tried to convert it using
pdflatex. Pdflatex converted the filed to foo.pdf, and when I
opened it in xpdf, it looked fine.
However, when I tried to open it on a Macintosh (so I could print

I created an outline and put the commands \date{} and \thispagestyle{empty}
and the dvi is allright. Then, if I make pdf file by using pdflatex, the date
and page number are there. If I make pdf without pdflatex, then I don't have
the date and page number appearing.
Any idea what's wrong?
