Hello and Thank you for your replies!
I have tested the solutions. I use a Swedish style, sweplnat, that
(generally) works well. When I try Günther's solution, Shött disappears
from the Bibliography. It may be that I am not enough familiar with LyX
and make some basic mistake.

Hello again!
I asked earlier about how to handle Swedish letters in lyx/bibtex:
http://www.mail-archive.com/lyx-users@lists.lyx.org/msg82909.html. The
solution works fine. Now I have run into a similar problem. I have several

hi,
I am trying to use biblographic references using APA style (i.e., (author,
year) for citations)
I have the default working fine (IEEE or similar style...ie., [1], [1,2],
etc.)
Anyone willing to tell me how to set the bib citation to APA style in LyX ?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Ed Sykes

When I started using LyX, I had never heard of BiBTeX and was distressed
that most documentation about bibliographies in LyX assumed I knew about
LaTeX and BibTeX. After a while, I found a workable way and wrote up an
introductory explanation for newcomers.
I hope users will find this helpful

Hi:
I've only been using LyX for a short while now, but this was pretty strange.
So I've inserted a BibTex bibliography in my multi-part LyX document, with no
problems whatsoever. I saw both good DVI and PDF outputs. Today, however, I
was simply checking the output again and I got this error m
Ok, thanks for pointing me in the direction of the /tmp directory.
There was no problem with the installation (1.16fix3 from .rpm on RH6.2)
The answer is (for future reference): supply the full (absolute) path to
the .bib file. (no ~/myfile.bib, ../myfile.bib, etc.)
All's well now.

Hi,
I am a longtime LaTeX user, but new to LyX.
So, apologies for this silly question:
I am trying to include references from my bibtex file.
This is what I have done so far:
1. I have inserted a bibtex reference at the end of my lyx document.
2. I have inserted a citation into my document

After some difficulty, I got harvard sty to be
recognized in my latex preamble. But with
\usepackage{harvard} in the preamble, when Lyx
compiles to dvi, I get errors in most (but NOT all)
of the sentences where there are citation references.
The errors say "undefined control sequence" and then
