I am trying to combine two images (fig_densities.eps
and fig_densities_zoom.eps) into one by slightly superimposing one on top of
the other. Now I managed to produce what I wanted using PSTricks, running my
script on TexShop, but when I run the same code within LyX a blank space

0. uninstall LyX 1.6.7 _completely_

Sounds like the configuration may be hosed. Have you tried reconfiguring LyX?
If that doesn't work, you might try deleting the local LyX subdirectory
(probably C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\lyx16, but your
mileage may vary), backing up any modified layouts etc. you might have there,

and use Insert->Graphics.
You will then get an image that works with DVI, PDF and PS.
These alternatives handles images a little differently, and LyX knows
that. But LyX doesn't help you with ERT stuff.

I mostly use LyX on my laptop, with openSuSE 11.1, and LyX 1.6.4.1. When
using beamer class, the default ps view (viewer set as gv) has a right
orientation, as it should be of slides. However, under similar configuration

Reconfiguring does not resolve the problem. I get the same symptoms.
I gave the wrong source of lyx file below.
The lyx file that is giving me the problem is the User's Guide fetched
