With Unicode fonts you will get a matching glyph (or none). With
on-TeX fonts
and then compile (with XeTeX), I get a "Missing glyphs" error.
But if I maually load the necessary packages and I instead of ERT for
\FiveStarOpen, it works fine. The problem appears to be that LyX is

When I use this ERT command, Lyx seems to hit a bug... it just won't produce

I use Lyx 1.6.9 to write my document. It has two footnotes. When I export
it to pdf, both footnotes look like " 9* The work is supported ... ".
